I am currently working a project to take 2 clusters from 9.7/9.9.1 up to 9.16.1. Our current hardware is being replaced by 2 C800 clusters that will start at 9.13.1 to be bidriectional with the old equipment (we will be running 9.9.1 prior to the Snapmirror relationship being created) and then upgraded to 9.16.1, so eventually we will have gone from FAS clusters running 9.7 and 9.9.1 to AFF C800's running 9.16.1. Something we've been asked to create amongst all this is a document covering data migration and migration rollback, essentially what the process of migration and rollback is and what would cause us to need to rollback. This has been tricky because we haven't been able to find anything that talks about Snapmirror failing or anything that would cause an upgrade to fail or what to do in that situation. If anyone has any guidance or referencable material that could help it would be greatly appreciated!

I'm using Ontap 9.15 and I have an long existing home directory sitting on a CIFS Flexvol. It hosts Ontap home directories in NTFS security style accessed from windows 10 machines. . There are around 10million files on it. The NTFS permissions were set by sharing out the volume to admins and setting the NFTS DACLS via windows. I'm looking to alter the permissions on it using the Ontap CLI (vserver security file-directory apply) but when I look for the security descriptor one does not exist. Is a security descriptor not created by virtue of creating the DACL in windows?

Hi All, We have noticed inconsistencies in the capacity reporting data between Active IQ and the Grafana dashboard. From the attached snippet, we observe the following: According to Grafana, the volume used capacity is 1.65 TB. According to Active IQ, the volume used capacity is 1.50 TB. We have already confirmed that this discrepancy is not related to polling issues. However, this inaccurate capacity usage data has negatively impacted the accuracy of our capacity analysis reports. Below are the details of our environment for your reference: ONTAP Version : 9.13.1P13 Active IQ Version :9.14 Promethues Version : 2.30.3 Grafana Version: Grafana v7.5.17 (8441179413) Harvest Version: harvest version 21.11.0-1 (commit 66c5ce1)

I' m not sure I'm making things wright but the beaviour is strange. Context Active Sync protected Consistency Group with Fan-out Snapmirror "MirrorAllSnapshots" behaviour. Active Sync destination volumes are retaining more snapshots than it should, while the Snapmirror destination volume retains only what is expected. Configuration Source System: One Consistency Group with two Volumes Snapshot Policies: No policy assigned to the individual Volumes, just to the CG: Snapshot Copies on the Source CG: On the Source, the snapshot quantity and type is consistent with the local snapshot retention and the number of active replication operations (ActiveSync and SnapMirror) Target System Consistency Groups: AS_CG_1 is the ActiveSync destination AS_CG_1_dest is the SnapMirror destination Relationships: Snapshot policies on Target: Snapshot copies on Target: The volumes from the Active Sync relationship are keeping more snapshots than they should. ActiveSync Secundary side Volumes: The volumes associated with the Snapmirror destination show the usual contents (Schedule Snaps plus the usual SM snapshots) Snapmirror Destination side Volumes: Please let me know what am I doing wrong here. Kind regards.
